The Model 36 Leveler addresses two of the most significant and oft-overlooked disciplines in sound design: the subtilties. Part of the ELF module series, the M36 arms the user with two fully independent channels of signal attenuation or DC reference voltage.

With no input present, each channel of the dual-function M36 is normalled to a variable (0 to 8 volt) fixed DC reference voltage which can be used to set a VCA offset, or a fixed pan location, or any number of applications where a variable reference is required. However, when a signal is routed through either input these normalled connections are broken and the LEVEL pots serve as passive attenuators for the information (either AC or DC) routed through them. Once an input is connected the reference voltage is taken out of the circuit.
