THE NO ADAM HENRY POLICY
Before anything else, we want your Plan B experience to be rewarding and we put a lot of work seeing through on that. There are however certain conditions which may effect your satisfaction, and we ask that you review the items listed below before considering the purchase of our goods:
A) From the conception of a new product through to it's production and sustaining support we make every effort to produce and manufacture electronic musical instruments of the highest quality measured against the highest standards in which that can be gaged. We are however human, and reserve the right to exercise those qualities and sometime errors will occur, defects will excape and service will be required.
In the event this occurs, we ask that you deal with us directly and politely and we will make every effort to service your particular instance to your full satisfaction.
B) Outside of a few exceptions in our product line, you are purchasing handbuilt analog electronic music equipment and we assume that you expect it to behave that way. We have made every effort to describe the operational conventions of each of our products - what to or not to expect. However, in this age of digital replication of analog circuitry, impractical expectations can spoil the experience. If you are expecting analog circuitry to behave like their digital counterparts, if you are uncomfortable that some of the controls may not command the type of precision afforded by digital technology or lab equipment (for example: phases of envelope generators not being exactly equal when set to the same position, or VCOs which to not track across the entire audio range), to avoid confusion or dissappointment, then please do not purchase our equipment.
C) The musical instruments you are purchasing are modular, meaning they are designed to integrate into a larger system and augment that by their specific function. In many cases, that integration requires that they be powered by racks and chassis not of our design. We target the electronic and mechanical conventions of our products against the standards and specifications listed by Doepfer MusikElectronik GMBH . However, other manufacturers within the Euro range may not and we cannot by held responsible for those instances. If you are uncomfortable with this, please do not purchase our equipment.
D) Modular electronic music equipment requires periodic maintenance. Trimpots used for setting levels will go out of adjustment. Further, we test and calibrate our gear with lab-quality power supplies set to exactly +/- 12 volts DC per the Doepfer spec, however in the real world you may find that your specific system may not be replicating those voltages to the precision in which we test. In instances where the circuitry will not operate correctly due to variations of the supply voltages, trimpots have been incorporated and in our product pages and manuals we give detailed instructions how to set these levels if variances occur. If you are uncomfortable with making these sort of periodic adjustments or unwilling to have a qualified technician perform them for you, please do not purchase our equipment.
E) We assume that by buying modular musical equipment you are aware of the basic operational techniques of modular synthesis. Some examples of this would be outputs connected only to inputs, inputs connected only to outputs, and proper connection (ribbon polarization) to the power bus. While our equipment may withstand instances when these guidelines aren't followed, this is an exception and we cannot bye held responsible for damage which occurs due to operator error as it's not covered by our 1 year manufacturer defects warranty. If you are uncomfortable with this, please do not purchase our equipment.
G) We exercise the right to refuse business from individuals who violate these guidelines and to avoid complications where they may elect to assume the role, both privately and publicly, for which these policies were named, we will exercise this right.
We thank you for considering these basic policies and look forward to sharing your experiences with our products and the art they make.
